Needle roller thrust bearings are designed with a strong cage to
effectively hold and direct many needle rollers. These bearings are very rigid and take
up very little space along the axis.
They work particularly well in situations where
the
surfaces of neighboring machine components can be used as a track. In such cases, they
require no more space than a regular thrust washer.
